Internet After Dark

Welcome to my first IPad episode!

To celebrate a pleasant day off, I caught the action packed Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters – and to break in the new equipment I reviewed the film ON THE WAY HOME!

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters is the kind of film that knows it’s supposed to be fun. You came for over the top witch fights, and it delivers within the first 15 minutes. It lets actors chew the scenery. I begs it’s audience to cheer along. It creates iconic characters that are unafraid to pose. It lets it’s bad guys have melodramatic monologues, and be bad guys because they’re evil.

Granted, I was the only one in the theater who laughed long and loudly at a visual gag early in the film – had drawn portraits of missing children fastened to milk bottles – but I guess no one else got the joke or wanted to open themselves up to the film. They’ve crafted Saturday Morning adventure serial material peppered with slpattery Army of Darkness violence, all made practically (with a peppering of CGI) and on a modest 60 Million budget. Nobody’s making movies or TV like this any more!

Go see the movie while you can. I love it so much, and I’m sure you will too.

I’m still getting the hang of iMovie on my new iPad, so these mobile episodes will look a little wonky until I can get the upgrade to my computer that will allow me to connect the iPad so I can have my regular IAD files and music at my disposal. BARE WITH ME FOLKS THESE WILL GET BETTER
